The e-Learning Design Lab is involved with a number of e-learning research projects in that focus on meeting the educational and training needs of various organizations. Following are brief descriptions of some current e-learning research domains and research projects:

State Delivery Model
State Delivery Model:

A new project to develop state level delivery models for online staff development. The project also involves the beta testing of Staff Development and Steppingstones modules.

Online Academy
Online Academy


Developed 23 online short courses for teacher education in reading, positive behavioral support and technology across the curriculum with national input in content development; created an automated course building software program; tested in 32 universities; courses currently installed at 170 universities nationwide.

Steppingstones
Steppingstones:


Developing online instructional modules to assist teachers in implementing national curriculum standards in math, science and reading in inclusive classrooms. Particular attention is being given to accommodating the instructional needs of students with disabilities when addressing national curriculum standards. Three modules for teachers have been completed, one will be developed for students.

Online Assessment Project
Online Assessment Project:

Research project to explore issues associated with online assessment.

Kansas State Department of Education
Kansas State Department of Education:


A pilot study involving the use of online modules in staff development. Participating areas include a consortium of 26 districts in rural parts of the state and individual districts.


Staff Development
Staff Development:


Developing online staff development modules for classroom teachers on topics determined to be of national priority in meeting the educational needs of students with disabilities.

Kansas State High School Computer Proficiency Exam
Kansas State High School Computer Proficiency Exam:

An online interactive exam for prospective University of Kansas students to demonstrate their computer proficiency has been developed.

Intelligent Knowledge Management Environments
Intelligent Knowledge Management Environments:

Developing an enhanced learning environment for use in training and developing officers in the U.S. Army.

State of Alabama
State of Alabama:


A project involving assisting colleges and universities in implementing online modules in teacher education. Support is also being provided to local districts in utilizing CDs in meeting a statewide staff development priority.
