This module will help you understand how and why data-driven decision-making has come to the forefront of education and what it can offer schools. Different types of educational data, including standardized assessments, are discussed in terms of their contribution to decision-making and their limitations. Data analysis, often an abstract concept to educators, is described in four basic steps that provide a foundation for the continuous improvement process. Completing this lesson will give you the background knowledge needed to be an effective member of your data-driven school improvement team.
