Module 1 examines the need for the implementation of teacher education on national curricular standards for all students including those with disabilities. The lessons in all the modules show interconnectedness, reflecting what is seen in both research and practice. Standards, accommodations, and assessments create a meaningful link with classroom teaching and student needs. The concept of UDL, Universal Design for Learning, is also introduced. Users of the modules are asked to look for this interconnectedness of concepts as they use the modules.
