Test Scores and Their Interpretation

This module contains three lessons - Traditional Scoring Procedures, Standardized Scores and Score Interpretation. You will learn the variety of ways that a test can be scored and how to design, compute and understand standardized scores. You will also learn different philosophies and approaches for interpreting the meaning of a test score.

Test Development

This module contains four lessons - Item Analysis in the Classroom, Developing Standardized Tests, Validity of Standardized Tests and Fairness of Standardized Tests. In these lessons, we will discuss different ways that teachers can develop and improve their own tests. Additionally, the process by which standardized tests developers produce tests is presented. This module emphasizes two key characteristics of quality tests- validity and the fairness of the test. You will learn what it means to say that a test is valid and how to evaluate whether a test is fair for your students.
