Professional Staff


Ed Meyen is co-director with administrative responsibilities for the eDL. He is a Professor in the Department of Special Education and holds a courtesy appointment in Educational Leadership and policy Studies. His research interest are in the areas of struggling learners, instructional design, research infrastructure, analytics and the customization of online applications to learner attributes.

Jim Miller is co-director and serves on the Council of Investigators. He is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science.

Diana Greer coordinates instructional product development in the Blending Assessment with Instruction Program is a Courtesy Assistant Professor in Special Education. She holds an Assistant Research Professor appointment with the Center for Research on Learning at the University of Kansas. Her PhD is in Special Education with an emphasis in online instruction. Her research interests are in technology and cognitive tutorials, content management, learning models, and instructional design. She serves as the chair of the Council of Investigators and on the eDL Management Team.

Darla Buckley is Program Associate for the eDL. She works closely with the Co-Directors in the management of eDL activities. She also assists in monitoring the flow of work production and serves as a liaison with external client staff. Darla has a BFA in Graphic Design/Illustration, a MLA in Literature, and a MA in Conflict Management and Dispute Resolution.

Tom Shorock is the Systems Administrator for the eDL. He also serves as a liaison with the programmers, designers and content developers in seeking solutions to technical problems and options. He has a BS in Computer Science and an MS in educational technology. He also serves on the eDL Management Team.

Dan Spurgin is the Senior Programmer. He works closely with all development teams and manages the technical aspects of implementation. He also serves on the Management Team and is a contact person for field test sites. He is completing an MS degree in instructional design and technology.
